Eclipse
for harp and string ensemble, 17', 2018

Although aesthetically inspired by and reflecting upon Arvo Part's Tabula Rasa, Eclipse chooses a unique concept of quarter tonal morphing harmony and introduces a principle of alternation one could find in the example of light and shade. The form of the piece develops slowly, and the 15 minute process can recall the stages of a solar eclipse - the moon gradually covers larger part of visible sun, all the way to the total eclipse (when one can se the corona), before the phenomenon starts to fade away.

Many thanks belong to the estonian residency program - Tartu Artist in Residence - where I had the chance stay and work for a month in January 2018.

The piece was premiered by the Berg Orchestra Prague, 3rd of December 2018 in the National Gallery main building Prague.
